A Collective Commitment

The NLCRT is a trusted coalition of public, private, and voluntary organizations and experts, dedicated to reducing the incidence of and mortality from lung cancer in the United States. The NLCRT’s focus is on promoting increased lung cancer awareness, prevention, early detection, and assurance of optimal therapy through public education, provider education, targeted research, and health policy initiatives.

Formally launched in March 2017, the NLCRT currently includes more than 140 member organizations across the country, among them clinical professionals, researchers, lung cancer advocates and patients, professional societies, cancer centers, academic institutions, health plans, federal agencies, and corporate associates.

Early emphasis of the NLCRT will focus on identification of adults at appropriate risk for screening, promoting tobacco treatment, informed and shared decision-making, high quality lung cancer screening, management of positive findings, ensuring timely and appropriate treatment, addressing key policy issues, and ending the stigma, nihilism, and fatalism associated with a diagnosis. The NLCRT will contribute to these challenges through leadership, strategic planning, advocacy, coordination, problem-solving, and data-gathering.

Members work diligently to share information, identify needs and opportunities, and address gaps in research, programs, activities, and services relating to lung cancer prevention and control. The strength of such a partnership, united in mission, enhances the work of each member and furthers the cause of lung cancer prevention, early detection, and appropriate treatment.

There’s always open seating at the Roundtable.
