Reflex Testing Workflow Project Overview:

As the prioritized deliverable from the 2025 ACS NLCRT Biomarker Summit, we aim to create a Reflex Testing Workflow Toolkit outlining different strategies that can be adopted by various health systems and/or multidisciplinary teams to align biomarker testing strategies that work within their contexts. This will include:

(1) identifying the various challenges that exist in different practices,

(2) defining an institution-specific reflex testing protocol,

(3) establishing well-defined roles and responsibilities of the individual members of the multidisciplinary team, and

(4) engaging with institutional policy-makers and state and national regulatory bodies to ensure appropriate reimbursement.

The ultimate goals are to ensure timely initiation of biomarker testing, increase biomarker testing rates, and improve turnaround time from diagnosis to time to initiating first-line treatment.
